BULK /bʌlk/ noun: the mass or magnitude of something large
Storage VPS on ZFS RAIDZ2. 2TB for $5 a month.
A KVM virtual machine with terabytes of ZFS HDD storage attached, SSD boot, ECC RAM, and root access. Transfer is included: no egress fees, ever.
What the storage runs on.
Storage pools are ZFS RAIDZ2 on HDD arrays, with block-level checksums. The OS boots from a separate SSD so it doesn't compete with the bulk data for I/O. RAM is ECC across the fleet. Everything runs in Phoenix, AZ on AS401640, with a 1.6Tbps upstream blend at the facility.
What people run on a storage VPS
It's a normal VPS with an unusual amount of disk. Anything that needs cheap, reliable terabytes is a fit.
Offsite backups
The offsite leg of a 3-2-1 strategy with rsync, restic, BorgBackup, or rclone. Restores cost $0 in egress. See the backup VPS page.
Self-hosted cloud storage
Nextcloud, Seafile, or Immich on your own hardware budget. Flat rate, no per-user pricing. Nextcloud setup guide.
S3-compatible object storage
Run MinIO or Garage and point S3-aware apps at your own endpoint instead of a metered bucket. Compare vs S3, B2, and Wasabi.
Media libraries
Jellyfin or Plex with a 15TB pool behind it. Stream your own collection from anywhere. Six apps worth running.
Long-term archives
Project archives, raw footage, datasets, compliance retention. Data you must keep but rarely touch, parked on checksummed storage.
Big working datasets
Scraping output, log retention, ML training corpora, scientific data. Mount it, fill it, and process it in place with full root access.
Storage VPS plans
All plans include ZFS RAIDZ2 storage, SSD boot, ECC RAM, 1 IPv4, /64 IPv6, and instant setup.

Storage VPS FAQ
Is the VPS managed?
No. Plans are unmanaged: you get full root access on a KVM virtual machine and you administer it yourself. There is no SLA. New customers have a 7-day money-back window, so you can test before committing.
Is bandwidth metered? Are there egress fees?
No per-GB egress fees and no API request fees. Each plan includes a monthly transfer allowance (10 TB, 15 TB, or 25 TB) and inbound traffic is unmetered on all plans. Pulling 2 TB back off your server costs $0 extra.
What port speed do I get?
Starter and Standard come with a 1 Gbit port. Pro comes with a 2.5 Gbit port. A 10 Gbit port is available as a paid upgrade. The facility upstream is a 1.6Tbps blend via NTT, TATA, Cogent, and Ninja-IX.
How is this different from object storage like S3?
A storage VPS is a full virtual machine with a large mounted filesystem: SSH in, run anything, no per-request billing. Object storage is an API with per-GB egress pricing. If you want S3 semantics, run MinIO on the VPS. See the full comparison: storage VPS vs S3, Backblaze B2, and Wasabi.
Which operating systems can I install?
AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, FreeBSD, and Alpine Linux. Reinstall anytime from the VPS control panel. Once you're up, our guide on formatting and mounting the storage volume gets the big disk online in five minutes.
